Becky Crawford
Becky makes mixed media artworks. She loves bending wire, combining recycled plastic and driftwood which she finds on her local beaches, fine silver, collage and paper mache. Her work is often humorous and joyful. She creates jewellery and mobiles, pictures for the wall, illustrated cards, and more, never having felt the need to be tied down to just one discipline. Nature and the natural world is very important to her and Beckys work reflects this passion. Memories and imagined moments also fuel her work. Beckys intention is to bring a smile to peoples' faces when they look at her work. Life can be so serious and she hopes that her artwork reminds you to enjoy the small things like climbing trees, flying kites, getting down into long grass to look at the beautiful shapes of grasses, leaves and flowers or imagining flying up to the stars. She has made many personalised commissions. She received a degree in 3D design (ceramics, glass and jewellery design) from the University of Central Lancashire in Preston in 1995.
