Kayleigh Victoria Rose

'I find peace and mindfulness in nature and through the tactile process of connecting with my materials, these are where the inspirations for my artwork emanate from and how I allow myself to feel grounded.'

“My name is Kayleigh Victoria Rose the Artist and Maker behind River Rabbit Studio.I am a potter, printer and painter.
Originally from Lincolnshire, I am now living in the beautiful Cornwall. In 2013 I moved to Nottingham and studied BA Decorative Arts at Nottingham Trent University where I graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor's degree in Decorative Arts.

After my Bachelor's degree I then went travelling around North and South India, volunteering in Jaipur and Goa. I then went on to work within the print and design industry, as a Pre-Press Operator in Southend-on-Sea, a Design Assistant in London and as a Screen Maker in Cornwall.

Over the years my interests and passions for pottery grew, I had taken classes at Treave Pottery in Cornwall which made my passion grow further. I was then lucky enough to be handed an old pottery wheel from my boss at my job as a Screen Maker, starting with nothing but a bag of clay some make shift tools from the kitchen and a wheel tucked away in an old shed of a shared house. I spent my spare time making what I could with what I had, and while I do love to throw I also developed a keen love for handbuilt pottery.

In 2021 I then went on to study MA Ceramics at Arts University Plymouth where I gained a Master's degree in Ceramics in 2022.I am now furthering my creative explorations in pottery, print and paint in my spare time through my personal business River Rabbit Studio.
