Creating mosaics I find peaceful and fulfilling in the design I am creating.

But being an artist who works in various fields, I like to mix match materials with a sense of humour, but also a serious look to what could evolve.

My approach to the artform would begin with the materials I have to work with, organising them to conform to a rough idea I have stored in my head, then I will do rough sketches for reference..

I try to create a sculpture that will play on the basic nature and ruggedness of the materials that  I have chosen. The surfaces are usually uneven in texture and carry various composed colours.

The first part of construction usually comes easily, but the smaller details require much thought and observation. The slight move of a hand could change the character of what I am creating, often adding a more serious or humorous or sinister touch. The attention to detail takes a long time, but I believe it’s necessary to ensure that each creation I create will express just the right meaningful emotion to the eyes of the audience, but also the satisfaction of making a work of art.
